We had the jerk wings and jerk chicken tacos to go. The smoke on the wings was incredible. Sweet, savory, smokey and spicy you get it all at this place! The slaw on the tacos was also very good. Thanks 1VP.

I was in the mood for a hearty meal, but I did not want to leave my home. Sometimes once I'm in the house on a Friday night ... it's a wrap. I slid right on over to Door Dash and looked for food close by. Knowing myself, I most likely searched "rice" because its always a good time for rice. 1 VP restaurant popped up, and the "it's been a long week, and I'm gonna have a good eating time" ordering began. I selected: the braised oxtails with rice and peas and cabbage as my sides, an extra side of rice peas (just in case the side was skimpy, totally unnecessary on my end), Kola Champagne, and a beef patty. I had a time!!!!! A time! The oxtails were so tender and the gravy really took them to the next level. (I did want a little more gravy, but the amount was completely acceptable). I just really like my food drenched if there's sauce involved. There aren't many places you can get quality Jamaican food from in Kansas City, so it's good to know I have another place to add to the rotation. Since I ordered in, I didn't get to experience the inside of the restaurant or feel the in person vibe if I was physically there. However, my order was fulfilled properly, so the service is obviously legit!

The jerk chicken! That's all! It's was absolutely delicious we ordered from here for an event and wow. They were behind about 25 mins on the pick up time. But it was worth the wait. Perfect spice perfect amount of heat! And the festival bread was absolutely delicious as well! Must go back and try the ox tails!

Awesome spot! Traveling through KC on a road trip, had to stop at an auto shop and came to this hidden gem for lunch! They have a great lunch special that rotates depending on the day of the week for about 9 bucks. It was a generous amount of food too and tasted great. I've been to other Caribbean places in San Diego and Columbus and this is one of the better ones! The restaurant didn't seem too busy which is a shame because of how good it is, but it might be because the dining room is closed for covid. I got the oxtail which had plenty of flavor!

Just found out about this spot and wanted to support especially since it's a black-owned business. No dine in- to go only. You can also use Door Dash. I ordered the jerk chicken. It was white and dark meat. The sauce was tasty. Mildly spicy (just right for folks who can't handle spice and for those that can it could've been a little more spicy. The entree came with rice and peas, cabbage and a side of more yummy sauce. The rice was a bit dry. Corn, carrots and other veggies were mixed in with the cabbage. I also ordered a slice of rum cake. It was yummy. IMO this is an authentic Jamaican restaurant. I will be back. They have daily specials that include curried goat and oxtails. It's definitely worth a try.
